Of Life, Liberty, and Property

Updated: Jul 4, 2022

Last night's ERG meeting was an intellectual feast. It featured meaty discussions, by the ERG founders, about life, liberty, and property as inspired by The Law, the free-market economics classic by Bastiat.

John Tillotson spoke about the overturning of Roe v. Wade and SCOTUS (life); Rich Ginop read portions of the book (liberty); Chris McCray mentioned the ill use of taxpayer-funded public library resources to promote the Petoskey PRIDE rally (property).

Bill Atkins also discussed his volunteer work for a pregnancy care center (life), while Wid Lyman issued a call to action and provided ERG fruity energy bars (dessert).

George Ranville (pictured), a candidate for the MI State Senate, also presented. The Emmet County resident shared his concerns about election integrity and his support for Matt DePerno and Kristina Karamo.

Dakota Baker acted as a proxy for Rep. John Damoose who was invited but unable to attend due to having business in Lansing.

Last, but not least, attentive service by Crystal Patrick (Northern Lights Recreation senior staffer and Precinct Delegate candidate) also made the evening grand. All in all, a very pleasant way to pre-celebrate the 4th of July.
