The nation has been rocked by the news that Ruby Garcia, age 25, was shot and killed in Grand Rapids over the weekend. Her body was found on US-131 and Leonard Street.
Brandon Ortiz-Vite, also age 25, has been charged with her murder. He is a citizen of Mexico and an illegal alien.
He is currently booked in the Kent County jail and could face up to life in prison.
As of this writing, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Attorney General Dana Nessel have offered no statement on the matter. NONE. Not even a note of sympathy for Ruby's family.
The residents of Michigan have a right to know what public safety measures the senior members of the Whitmer administration will enact to prevent this from happening to another woman - be she a wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt.
Conversely, Commissioner Chuck Laughbaum wants to declare Emmet County to be a non-sanctuary county to discourage the federal and state government from sending illegals to the County. Beginning at the 1:13 mark, listen here.

Murders sure are tragic. I wonder how many of the other 200+ murders GR has seen over the last year were committed by (gasp!) native-born Americans. I'm guessing most.
For those Michigan residents who still believe that Democrats like Joe Biden and Gretchen Whitmer have any interest in their safety, read and weep about this avoidable tragedy. Michigan IS a border state, in a Nation without a border under the Biden administration.
Thank you, Commissioner Laughbaum! We need someone protecting us from these blue governor's deadly policies. You know, it's funny; the same governors who put COVID patients in nursing homes, stoke racism with their DEI nonsense, defund the police, and give "sanctuary" to criminals, push for abortion up to the point of birth.
