A grassroots group - NE Michigan League of Conservative Education - has compiled a list of pornographic books that are openly available to minors at the Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library.
The Alpena County library administration and board have blocked attempts to, at least, put the books behind the librarian's desk.
The group is now fighting against their community's library millage vote of August 6, 2024.
Voters in Little Traverse and Springvale Townships will also be deciding on a library renewal request on 8/6. ERG encourages those voters to research what questionable content (as those on the Alpena list) are also easily available to youngsters at the Petoskey District Library.
Our taxpayer-funded library, according to Director Val Meyerson, is supposed to be a "safe place to congregate."
Whom exactly is it a safe space for? We think you know the answer to that question.
