DefendingPetoskey.org is a coalition of concerned local residents who are explaining to voters (via the posted letter), in Petoskey and Bay Harbor, why to vote "no" on the ordinance amendment that would allow and provide for the licensing of recreational marijuana retailers in the City. The ordinance amendment will appear on the Nov. ballot.
The proposal is being put forward by mercenary marijuana interests. It is an attempt to overturn Petoskey's ban on recreational retail marijuana shops which voters adopted in March of 2020.
This potential expansion of recreational THC-marijuana shops is troubling for our community, as they set a bad example for our youth and for our image as a family-friendly destination.
