House Bill: Require 'Christian foundations' Instruction in PubEd

MI House Bill 4672, introduced on 5/25, would mandate that public schools offer instruction on the Christian foundations of United States History specifically "how the pilgrims emigrated because of persecution." And, how that persecution influenced the early communities to cultivate "democratic forms of government and Christian ethics simultaneously for the prosperity and safety of the commonwealth."

The bill is sponsored by Rep. Joe Fox, a Freedom Caucus member and retired Christian school teacher, who seeks to take a stand against historical revisionism and cancel culture.

"The present state of our nation can be traced back to its conception, when an independent, free nation was simply an idea in the minds of immigrants. This is an accurate portrayal of American History," stated Rep. Fox.

A co-sponsor of HB 4672 is Rep. Neil Friske. The bill has been referred to the House Education Committee.

Unfortunately, this bill will likely die in the House Education Committee, with a Democrat chairing the committee and Democrats a majority in both the House and the Senate.

It is very responsible to use taxpayer resources to try to turn around the devastation that is happening in our public schools. This may not have a snowball's chance in hell of passing, but it's a good move to bring awareness to the issue. Keep it up, Friske!
