As many bikers know, a portion of the Little Traverse Wheelway, from East Park in Bay Harbor to Magnus Park in Petoskey (1.25 miles) remains closed due to serious erosion issues.
The Wheelway is picturesque and popular with tourists. The eroded portion has been the source of much discussion due to the cost (and politics) involved in repairing it, as well as the monies already committed, by several local units of government, to "engineering studies."
